Supplies: Seamless Pattern Creator 1 (PSP Scripts). The pack can be bought at Digital Scrap World.

A colorswatch and a texture. Or you can use mine (right click to save to your own computer):

* Install the scripts. How to do it, is described in the pack.

* Open the colorswatch and your texture pattern in your PSP.

* Chose two colors from the swatch with your color picker. I use color 5 as my background and color 8 as my foreground color.

* Run script “lhsPATTERN_TILE_vol1_01″. You now have a seamless tile that looks like this:

* Open a new 3600*3600 px. canvas.

* Chose a color from the swatch. I use #7. Pick the color with your color picker and flood fill the canvas.

* Add a new layer.

* In your color/material palette chose the pattern option. Find your new tile and set the scale to 25:

* Flood fill the empty layer with this pattern.

* Add a new layer. Again go to the color/material palette and find lhsPATTERN_tut_SeamlessPatternCreator1. Set the scale to 100.

* Flood fill the new layer in your canvas with this pattern.

* Change the blend mode of this layer to overlay and lower the opacity to approx. 65.

Your paper is now finished! Remember to save! :)

I have made three other examples of how to use the Seamless Pattern Creator 1. I have left out the text here and is just showing the settings with pictures.

EXAMPLE # 1:

I combine two of the scripts in this one. That can be done, when the tiles has the same size (/in this case 600*600 px) and the scale and angle is set to the same.

Background color in the paper: #5

You can download the four papers here. These are 3600*3600 px. while the examples above are 600*600 px. You will have to click a couple of times on these preview to get to the full size.

Programs used: PSP 9 and Animation Shop

Supplies: I used one of my own quick pages for this tutorial. You can buy the quick page at Digital Scrap World.

If you would rather use the kit “Pirate For A Day”, you can buy it here.

I also use a blinkie template made by myself, you can download it here.

* Open QP#1. Duplicate and close the orignal. Save.

* Use the Selection Tool (Rectangle) and make a selection, that looks something like this:

* Crop to selection.

* Resize so that the width is 100 px. Resize all layers (Smartsize).

* Add a new layer. Flood fill with black. Select all/Float/Defloat. Modify/Contract 1 px. Press delete. Select none.

* Merge the two layers. Duplicate this new merged layer eight times, so you have nine layers all in all.

* Save!

Launch Animation Shop

—-

* Open the file, you just saved i PSP.

Also open my blinkie template.

* Select all frames in both animations. Drag the text/blinkie part onto the canvas, you just made in PSP.

Place it something like this:

Remember you can always use the Undo button (/needs to be done in both animations), if you get it placed “wrongly”. I had to use that option a couple of times myself. ;)

* Now the blinkie is almost finished. It just needs a little fine tuning. This is what I did:

1) In frame 9 I changed the Frame Property to a display time of 25 (/instead of default 10)

2) In frame 1 I set the display time to 2.

3) In frame 2, 3, 5, 6, 7 and 8 I set the display time to 7.

4) And finally in frame 4 I set it to 15.

* Save your animation as a gif file.

Your blinkie is finished! :)
