Program used: PSP 9
Level: Intermediate
Supplies: Scrap kit “Where Is Santa?” by Lise-Lotte Sunesen. The kit can be bought here.
My PSP Picture Frame. It can be downloaded here.
Font Propecy script. It can be downloaded here.
* Open a 1800*1200 px canvas. Save. This is now our working canvas.
* Open paper 1, c/p it to the canvas.
* Resize the paper to 75% (smartsize – all layers un-checked)
* Place the paper to your liking. This is what mine looks like:
* Open the embellishments, you would like to use. I use the following: a round frame, the standing reindeer, the two Christmas hats plus the two kids. I also use a bow and a holly berry.
* Resize all the elements to 40% (Smartsize).
* Mirror the reindeer, the eldest girl plus the berry.
* Rotate the holly berry 15 degrees to the left.
* Rotate the hat for the big girl 20 degrees to the right.
* Place everything to your liking. This is what mine looks like now:
* I wrote “Merry Christmas” with font Propecy Script size 110. I picked a red color from the card to write the text with.
* Go to layer 1 (/this is an empty layer). Select it with the magic wand, then crop to selection.
* Go to the paper layer and apply Picture Frame lhsINKEDEDGE with these settings:
* Set the picture frame layer to blend mode Screen.
* Time to add some shadows to your card. I used Eye Candy 6 for this. I didn´t add any shadow to the text.
* Whith the freehand selection select inside the frame. Go to the paper layer and press delete.
* My card looks like this now:
* Time to dig out a picture to use in the card.
* C/p the picture behind the paper layer. Resize and reposition the picture as needed.
* Your card is now finished. Remember to save!
* If you want to use the card digitally (i.e. e-mail it to family and friends), then duplicate the card and resize it to approx. 600 px. (smartsize -all layers checked). And save as a jpg.
* If you want to print your card follow these steps:
1. Duplicate the canvas. Close the original.
2. Merge all.
3. Flip the canvas, then mirror it.
4. Go to the print tool and apply these settings:
5. Fold the printed card and cut away the excess.
I hope you had fun with this tutorial. Merry Christmas!
