Program used: PSP 9

Supplies: Seamless Pattern Creator 1 (PSP Scripts). The pack can be bought at Digital Scrap World.

A colorswatch and a texture. Or you can use mine (right click to save to your own computer):

* Install the scripts. How to do it, is described in the pack.

* Open the colorswatch and your texture pattern in your PSP.

* Chose two colors from the swatch with your color picker. I use color 5 as my background and color 8 as my foreground color.

* Run script “lhsPATTERN_TILE_vol1_01″. You now have a seamless tile that looks like this:

* Open a new 3600*3600 px. canvas.

* Chose a color from the swatch. I use #7. Pick the color with your color picker and flood fill the canvas.

* Add a new layer.

* In your color/material palette chose the pattern option. Find your new tile and set the scale to 25:

* Flood fill the empty layer with this pattern.

* Add a new layer. Again go to the color/material palette and find lhsPATTERN_tut_SeamlessPatternCreator1. Set the scale to 100.

* Flood fill the new layer in your canvas with this pattern.

* Change the blend mode of this layer to overlay and lower the opacity to approx. 65.

Your paper is now finished! Remember to save! :)

I have made three other examples of how to use the Seamless Pattern Creator 1. I have left out the text here and is just showing the settings with pictures.

EXAMPLE # 1:

I combine two of the scripts in this one. That can be done, when the tiles has the same size (/in this case 600*600 px) and the scale and angle is set to the same.

Background color in the paper: #5

You can download the four papers here. These are 3600*3600 px. while the examples above are 600*600 px. You will have to click a couple of times on these preview to get to the full size.

Program used: PSP 9

Supplies:  A tube of your choice or the one I used, which can be downloaded here.

I also use one of my home made Picture Frames. It too is in the download file. Install it by copying it to your c:/documents/MyPSPfiles/PictureFrame folder.

Last but not least I used one of my scrap kits called “Wonderful Autumn”. It can be bougt at Digital Scrap World.

* Open solid paper blue. Duplicate. Save. This is now your working canvas.

* Open the following elements and c/p them to your canvas:

frame 2

leaf 1

staple (with DS)

paperflowers 4 and 5

stitches

pumpkin

* Resize to 600 px. (Smartsize, All Layers)

* Resize the pumpkin with additional 75%

* Take a tube of your choice and c/p it behind the frame layer. Then selecct inside the frame, expand with 1 px. and back on the tube layer promote selection to layer. Deselect. X-out the original tube layer.

// I use one of Alie´s tubes. The orignal artist (to whom the copyright belongs) is Lei Sheng.//

* Now with your Selection Tool (Rectangle), select part of the canvas (see below), then go to the paper layer and promote selection. Deselect. X-out the original paper layer.

* Add a new layer, flood fill with white, drag the layer to the bottom of the canvas.

* Back on the promoted paper layer, open Picture Frame and apply lhsTORNEDGE_01 with these settings:

* Add a shadow to all your embellishments. The shadow on the stitched layer, should be a bit discrete.

* Time to add your name or text. I wrote Wonderful Autumn using font Rage Italic LET, size 30.

My tag looks like this now:

* Crop some of the white away like this:

* Your tag is now finished. Save! Also save as a jpg.

Supplies: Glitter PSP tubes. Can be bought here.

PSP script “Vector Tube” by Pixel Nook. The script can be downloaded here.

* Install the glitter tube and the script.

First we are going to make a seamless glitter fill.

* Open a 300*300 px canvas.

* In the Picture Tube Tool find the glitter tube, you want to use. I use lhsGLITTERgreen01.

* “Paint” the canvas with glitter.

tut1

* x-out this layer.

* Make a new layer. “Paint” a thick stripe of glitter in the middle of the canvas.

tut2

* Move the stripe to the left, like this:

tut3

* Duplicate this layer.

* On the duplicate layer go to Effects/Image Effects/Offset with these settings:

tut4

* It looks like this now:

tut5

* Make a new layer. Repeat the process, this time with a horizontal stripe.

Screenshots from this process:

tut6

tut7tut8tut9* Make all layers visible.

* You now have a seamless  glitter pattern!

tut10

* Minimize your glitter pattern.

Now it is time to make the glitter text!

* Open a new canvas 3600*1000 px.

* Activate your text tool.

* In your background color, find the glitter fill in the drop down under the patterns.

tut11

* I write ”Christmas” with font Ariel with these settings:

tut12

* Keep it as a vector. Go to Objects/Align/Center In Canvas.

tut13

We now have a glitter text, but it does not look all that real. But we are going to change that now.

* Still keeping the text as a vector, go to Objects/Convert To Path.

* You have not used the Tube Tool since you made the glitter fill, so your glitter is still the selected tube there.

* You are now ready to run the “Vector Tube” script. Find it in the scripts drop down, and press the run button.

tut14

* Your text is now ready to be saved as a png.

This is a close up of the text:

Supplies: Shiny Button (PSP Scritp) by Lise-Lotte Sunesen. Available here.

Three papers from kit Delightful Autumn by Lise-Lotte Sunesen. Available here.

Open one of the papers, minimize it. Go to background color and select Pattern. Chose the paper, set the scale to 50.

Chose a foreground color. It will turn out grey/silver no matter which color. I use a grey color.

Find and run the script lhsBUTTON_shiny_01_vectorstyle (/see the link to the store in the above). If you don´t want to buy the script, but still want to try out this tut, you can download the buttons, I have made for this tut here. Beware, that they are for PERSONAL USE only. Thank you! :)

This is what my button looks like, when I use paper number 6 from the kit Delightful Autumn.

tut01

Save the finished button as a png.

Make a couple of more buttons with different papers. Again save these as pngs.

Now open one of the buttons and with your text tool write an A. I used the font Kozuka Mincho Pro size 250 for my button alpha. Choose a fairly dark brown color for the letter.

tut02

Then play with the blend modes to get a nice burned look.

Here are screenshots of the settings,  I have used on my alpha buttons:

tut03 tut04

tut05

Remember to save you alpha buttons as pngs as you are finished with them.

Repeat the process with all the letters and/or numbers, you want to use.

I hope you enjoyed this tutorial! :)

I have also turned this tutorial into a PSP script. You can download the script here.

Supplies: X-mas Candle (PSP Script) by Lise-Lotte Sunesen. You can buy it here.

Subject: How to use a PSP script including tips to make it as easy as possible.

1. Find lhsCHRISTMAScandlewithpearls among your PSP scripts.

2. In this script the foreground material creates the candle and the background material (along with the foreground material) creates the pearls.

I used a solid color for the candle part and a pattern for the pearls.

3. To make running the script as easy as possible for you make sure to set the script to run in automatic toogle mode.

lhstut_script_pic1

To do so make sure the box showed above is not selected. That way you don´t have to click more than once, when running the script.

4. Now run the script by clicking on the triangle button.

lhstut_script_pic2

It is right next to the script name.

5. With the more “heavy” scripts it can sometimes be a bit confusing to see, when the script is actually finished. Just check in the script line (also shown above), if the red x button shows. If it does, the script is still running.

lhstut_script_pic3

6. When the script is finished the candle still needs to have a flame added. You do that by browsing your psp tubes and find the “Fire” tube.

lhstut_script_pic4

7. Add a new layer to your candle and put a flame to it with the fire tube. Since you have added it as a new layer, you can easily move the flame to the wanted position.

lhstut_script_candle01_preview2

8. Your candle is now finished, and you can save it in your prefered format.  Just remember to chose one that allows transparant background.

How to use a quick page

How to resize digiscrap pages

How to print digi scrap pages

Program used: PSP9

1. Open and copy your choosen quick page.

I am using one of my own from kit Funky Girl. You can find it here.

2. Open the picture you want to use.

3. My picture is too small for the full sized quick page, so I need to resize the QP.

lhshowtouseaqptut_01

It is very important to use SMART SIZE. Otherwise you can´t be sure, that your digi scrap page will show up okay.

4. Copy and paste the choosen picture to the quick page.

5. Drag the picture to the bottom, place it to your liking behind the frame.

6. Optional: Add text (journaling and/or a title)

7. Save the layout.

I prefer to save as a psp image, then it is easy to edit the layout later.

IF you want to print the layout:

8. Click the printer button

lhshowtouseaqptut_02

FIT TO PAGE will fill the page. That is rarely a good option. Instead choose one of the other options.

It is recommended to use 100% or less to make the print quality as good as possible.

In width add the size you want. In my case I choose to print it 9×9 cm.

I often like to print my layouts to a 6 inch/15,25 cm album. In a case like that, it is important to use big pictures, so the layout won´t need to be resized with more than (maximum) 50%.

The finished layout:
