* Apply my Picture Frame with these settings:

* C/p the following elements onto the canvas: glitter doodle 1, 3, 4, metalswirl 2, bow 2 and alien 2.

Resize all of the elements to 18%. Resize the alien once more. This time to 65%.

* Drag the paper layer down a bit.

* Place  everything like this:

* Add a shadow of your liking to all the elements EXCEPT to the glitter doodles.

* Optional: Add your name.

* Merge ALL.

* Duplicate the layer 49 times (!) so that you have 50 layers when finished.

* Save.

***

* Open the spaceship canvas and “Insert Image Effect” MORPH like this:

* Make sure all the frames are selected, then open your 50 layered tag. Select ALL layers in this canvas.

* Drag the spaceship onto this canvas.

* Select frame 1 (/deselect the rest of the frames) and change the Frame Properties to 200.

* ALTERNATIVE (beware I didn´t do this): select both frame 1 and frame 50 and set the Frame Properties to 200.

* Save as an animation.

FINITO! :)

Programs used: PSP 9 and Animation Shop

Supplies: I used one of my own quick pages for this tutorial. You can buy the quick page at Digital Scrap World.

If you would rather use the kit “Pirate For A Day”, you can buy it here.

I also use a blinkie template made by myself, you can download it here.

* Open QP#1. Duplicate and close the orignal. Save.

* Use the Selection Tool (Rectangle) and make a selection, that looks something like this:

* Crop to selection.

* Resize so that the width is 100 px. Resize all layers (Smartsize).

* Add a new layer. Flood fill with black. Select all/Float/Defloat. Modify/Contract 1 px. Press delete. Select none.

* Merge the two layers. Duplicate this new merged layer eight times, so you have nine layers all in all.

* Save!

—-

Launch Animation Shop

—-

* Open the file, you just saved i PSP.

Also open my blinkie template.

* Select all frames in both animations. Drag the text/blinkie part onto the canvas, you just made in PSP.

Place it something like this:

Remember you can always use the Undo button (/needs to be done in both animations), if you get it placed “wrongly”. I had to use that option a couple of times myself. ;)

* Now the blinkie is almost finished. It just needs a little fine tuning. This is what I did:

1) In frame 9 I changed the Frame Property to a display time of 25 (/instead of default 10)

2) In frame 1 I set the display time to 2.

3) In frame 2, 3, 5, 6, 7 and 8 I set the display time to 7.

4) And finally in frame 4 I set it to 15.

* Save your animation as a gif file.

Your blinkie is finished! :)

This is what mine looks like:

I hope, you enjoyed this tutorial!

Program used: PSP 9 plus Animation Shop

Supplies: My blinkie template. It can be downloaded here.

Plus my scrap kit “A Japanese Romance”. The kit can be bought at Digital Scrap World.

I also use Eye Candy 5 Perspective Shadow. It is optional though.

* Open my blinkie tempalte. Minimize for now.

* Open paper 7. Duplicate and save. This is now your working canvas.

* Open the following papers and elements and c/p them onto your working canvas:

paper 12

paper 2

glitter 3

cherry blossom (/the stick)

girl 4

kimono 2

fan 1

* With your selection tool (rectangle) select a wide border to the left. Go to paper 2 and promote to selection.

x-out the original paper 2 layer.

* Make a new selection but make this a bit wider, than the first one. Then go to the paper 12 layer and promote selection to layer. Again x-out the original layer.

* Resize the fan to 75%.

* Mirror the cherry blossom.

* Drag the glitter swirl behind the first promoted layer, so that it is “stuck” between the two promoted layers.

* Place everything somewhat like this:

* Open bow 4 and place it on top of the kimono.

* Time to add some shadows. I use EC5 Perspective Shadow. If you don´t have this plugin just use the PSP drop shadow tool.

* I use a perspective shadow on the bow, the fan and the cherry blossom.

* I use a drop shadow on the kimono, the girl and the two promoted layers. I don´t add a shadow to the glitter swirl.

I used these settings:

* With your Rectangle Tool (Draw Square) make a square like this (/it doesn´t have to be precisely like mine, it is the square part, that is important):

I lowered the opacity, so I could see better.

* Move the square to your liking. Just remember that there needs to be room for the blinkie part.

When satisfied go to select from vector and then to crop to selection. Delete the vector (/square).

* I decided to move my embellishments a bit to “fill out” the square a bit more. This is what it looks like now:

* If you want to add some text, do it now.

* Merge all layers.

* Resize canvas to 145*145 pixels (/Smartsize).

* Copy. Save and close this canvas.

* Open my blinkie template. Duplicate and save. Close the original.

* Paste your copied tag onto this canvas. Move it to be beneath layer “1″.

* Add a new layer. Flood fill with black. Select all/float/defloat. Modify/contract 1 px. Then press delete.

* Merge the black border layer and the tag layer.

* Duplicate this layer 5 times.

* Drag these layers so one is beneath each of the numbered layers, like this:

* Then go to layer “6″ and merge down. Repeat with the other 5 numbered layers.

You now have a six layered canvas. Save it.

….

Load Animation Shop.

* Open your six layered canvas in AS.

* Select all the frames and put the “Frame Property” to 20 (instead of the default 10).

* Save your animation as a gif-file.

Your blinkie is finished!

This is my result:

I hope, you enjoyed this tutorial! :)

Supplies: Kit Egg Hunt by Lise-Lotte Sunesen. The kit can be bought here.

Plus my egg mask. It can be downloaded here.

Plugins used: Eye Candy 5 Glass and Perspective Shadow.

* Open af new 400*500 px. canvas. Save! This is now your working canvas.

* Open paper 8_blue. C/p it to the canvas and resize this layer to 17% (SmartSize)

* Open the mask in your PSP. Then go back to your working canvas and right click on the layer in your layers palette. There you can apply the mask directly without saving it to your mask folder.

* Merge the group layer.

* Open and c/p the following embellishments to your canvas:

Cloud 1+2

Flags

The 2 chickens

Grass 1+2

Duplicate one of the grass pieces and mirror it. Then resize all the embellishments to 17%.

I placed everything like this:

* Make sure the flags is your active layer. Then go to your text tool and write 2, 0, 1, 0. Rasterize the text parts.

I used font LD Chicken Scratch size 20 for my numbers.

* Place the numbers on top of the flags like this:

* Make the Egg (/our former mask layer) your active layer, then apply Eye Candy 5 Glass with these settings:

* Add a shadow to all elements. I used Eye Candy 5 Perspective Shadow with these settings:

* Merge All Flatten. Promote background to layer then duplicate it 9 times, so that you have 10 layers.

* Save as a pspimage and close.

Open a new 1200*1200 px. canvas. C/p wordart_egghunt to this. Resize the wordart to 12%. Delete raster 1 (/an empty layer). Duplicate the wordart 9 times, so you have 10 layers in all. Save as a pspimage and close.

Time to open your ANIMATION SHOP.

* First open the wordart canvas. Select all layers. Then go to Apply Image Effect and chose Stained Glass at the drop down menu. Then click on the customize button and apply these settings:

Keep the frames selected.

* Open your tag. Select all the frames and then drag the wordart animation into it. Don´t let go of the wordart until it is placed to your liking. I placed mine at the bottom of the tag.

I changed the Frame Properties to a display time of 15 (/10 is default).

* Save your animation.

Your animated tag is now finished! I hope, you enjoyed this tutorial.

This is my result:

Program used: PSP 9 and Animation Shop

* Open grass 01. C/p to the canvas. Resize  to 15%.

* Open fairy 01. C/p to the canvas. Resize to 20%.

* I have placed everything like this:

* Add a name or a title. I wrote “Fairy Love” with SBC Whimsy Joogle. I used size 36 for the fairy part (/I used a brown from the fairy´s hair) and size 48 for the love part (/this time I picked a red from her shoes).

* I added a white sticker border to the text with EC 4000 Gradient Glow with these settings:

* Add a shadow to your elements. I used EC6 Perspective Shadow with these settings:

* This is what my canvas looks like now:

* Go to Selection Tool and find the Custom Selection. Apply these settings:

Then go to Image/Crop To Selection.

* Make the paper layer your active layer. Then go to Image/Picture Frame and apply frame lhsTORNEDGE_01 with these settings:

* Part of the frame shows as a weird shadow beneath the grass part, so with your selection tool, chose this part:

And flood fill it with white. (/The picture frame is still your active layer).

* Now Merge Visible.

* Copy the merged layer twice, so that you have three layers in total.

* Save as a pspimage.

* Open the file in Animation Shop. Also open the heart animation.

* In both files select all layers. Then drag the heart animation into the tag. Use my finished tag as a referance.

* Save your animation as a gif-file.

* Mirror the bear (/that is the animal sticker). Move to the right.

* Rotate the frame and the promoted paper layer 2 degrees to the left. Move  to your liking.

* Add a drop shadow to the bear and the frame.

I used Eye Candy Perspective Shadow with these settings:

tut6

* I added some text: “Rainy Dayz”.

I used font MonoAlphabeet, size 36- I picked some colors from the canvas.

Convert the text to a raster. Rotate 2 degrees to the left. Add a shadow. Move like this:

* When that is done, go to the raindrop animation, right click in frame 1, chose COPY.

* Then back to the tag, right click in frame 1, chose Paste/Into Selected Frame.

* You can now move the raindrops to where you want them in your tag. I placed mine to the left. When they are placed to your liking click on your left mouse button, and the animation is now pasted into all your tag frames.

This tutorial was written on Nov. 16th, 2009 by Pimp’d Tagz Exclusively for Digital Scrap World

Program used: PSP 9 and Animation Shop 3

Level: Intermediate

Supplies: kit Jolly B-Day by Lise-Lotte Sunesen. It is available here.

PSP script Christmas Lights by Lise-Lotte Sunesen. It is available here.

Also used: Eye Candy 5 Perspective Shadow

* Pick two colors from the kit you are going to use and run the PSP script Christmas Lights.

When the script is finished you have two layers. One with the light “chain” and one with a glow/flash.

* Resize the canvas to a 3600*3600 px. Placement top/middle:

tut1

* C/p a paper to this canvas. Drag the paper so that it is the bottom layer.

I used paper 3 from kit Jolly B-Day.

* C/p your embellishments to the canvas.

I used a gift, 2 balloons and a frame. I resized the balloons and the frame to 75%. I also resized the Christmas lights to 75%. Remember to resize both the lights plus the glow/flash layer.

* Rotate the frame 3 degrees to the left.

This is what my canvas looks like now:

tut2

* I now mirror my paper, because the gift, I use is also used in the paper. If you don´t use the same paper as I, this step is not necessary.

* Crop your canvas.

tut3

* Resize all layers to a 600 px. width.

* I just notice, that I made a rookie error: I forgot to save my work. Oops! LOL! So let´s save it now! :)

* Go to the paper layer, then apply a picture frame. I use Edge Circles 01 with these settings:

tut4

If you use another frame, please remember to “Frame Current Layer” only.

* Time to add some “life” to our card/tag. You do that by adding a drop shadow to your embellishments (/NOT to the flash/glow layer though!).

I used Eye Candy 5 Perspective Shadow with these settings:

tut5

This is what my canvas looks like now:

tut6

* Time to add your text.

I used “Birthday Greetings”. Font is Bickham Script Pro, size 48, color black.

Add a discrete drop shadow. I used this:

tut7

* With your Freehand Selection Tool (Point To Point) trace around in the frame.

tut8

On the paper layer, press delete. Plus if your picture frame layer (/the frame we added to the paper layer) shows in the frame, then go to that layer and press delete there too.

* Open the picture, you want to use. C/p it onto the canvas. Drag it behind the paper layer. Resize your picture if needed. Rotate the picture 3 degrees to the left. Place it so it fits in the frame “hole”.

I use a picture of my Nephew. The picture has been altered into a drawing using a filter called Filter Forge.

* If you like: add the name of the Birthday “child”.

* Your un-animated tag is now finished. You can save it as a jpg and use it as it is, if you like.

Mine looks like this:

lhsTUTbirthdaygreetingsNOani

……………………………….

Now let´s animate the tag! :)

* Duplicate your canvas, save it. Close down the original canvas. We will now work on the duplicate.

* x-out the Christmas lights layer PLUS the flash/glow layer. Then merge visible.

You now have these three layers: lights, flash layer and Merged.

* Copy the three layers 22 times each.

To keep all the layers “straight” in your head, please pay attention to the numbers as shown here:

tut9

So when we get to the animation part, where you need to merge certain layers together, chose the layer, which copy is named the same.  The three “Copy (1)”  i.e. merged together.

* Now x-out all layers except the three original ones.

* Go to the open “flash layer” layer. Trace around the flash/glow of the first light (from the left) with your Freehand Selection Tool (Point To Point).

tut10

* Then go to Selections/Modify/Inside/Outside Feather and apply these settings:

tut11

This step is very important to prevent hard edges. Trust me those would spoil your animation.

* Now while having the flash/glow layer as your chosen one, press delete. Select none.

* Go to the Merged layer, chose merge visible. Rename the layer “1″.  x-out this layer.

* You may have noticed, that we “only” made 22 copies, so that we have 23 times 3 layers, and yet there are 24 lights. Well, the fourth and fifth light from the left are so close, that  we will erase the flash/glow for those two in ONE setting.

* Now repeat the procedure with all 24 (except 4  and 5 – see above note) lights!

Move from left to right in the process.

* When this is done, your layer content should look like this:

tut12

* It is time to “un-x” (LOL) all your layers.

* Save your psp-image.

Remember to have it saved to be opened in (at least) PSP7 and up. Otherwise you cannot open it in Animation Shop.

* Open your file in Animation Shop.

tut13

* I set the display time to 7 for all the frames.

You do that by selecting all frames, right click in one of them, and chose Frame Properties.

* “Save As”. Chose a name and a location. Then click OK, then this screen will “pop up”:

tut14

My PSP and AS is in Danish, but you just chose the NEXT button, and next again, and again. Then apply.

Your animation is now saved as a gif-file.

This is my result:

lhsTUTbirthdayGrettings

I hope, you had fun with this tutorial! :)
