Program used: PSP 9
Level: Intermediate
Supplies:
Kit Joyful Times by Lise-Lotte Sunesen. Kit available here.
My template plus psp frame. You can download them here.
Eye Candy 5 Perspective Shadow (/can be substituted with PSP´s drop shadow)
* Unzip the zip file with the template and the frame.
* Install the frame like this: c/p the frame file to c:/documents/MyPSP Files/Picture Frames
* Open the template, duplicate it, close the original and save your duplicate. This will now be our working canvas.
* Open paper 07, c/p it above layer 1 in your canvas.
Resize the paper layer with 75%. Remember to un-check the “resize all layers” option.
* c/p paper 03 above layer 2. Resize like before.
* Now lower the opacity of this layer and drag the paper so the boxes in the paper fit with the grey part of layer 3.
Mine looks like this:

* Go to layer 1, select all/float/defloat, then go to the layer above it (/that would be the paper layer), and chose “promote selection to layer”.
x out the original paper layer and layer 1.
* Repeat with layer 2 and it´s paper layer.¨
* Go to the paper layer above layer 3. x out layer 3, then on the paper layer with the selection tool (rectangle) make a selection around the middle section of the boxes.
If you use another paper follow the step described above instead.
I selected the boxes like this:

* Promote selection to layer. x out the original layer.
* It´s time to decide which paper to use for the scallop edged tag on the top. I decided to use solid paper Dark Brown. Repeat the steps from above:
Resize the paper with 75%, on layer 4 select all/float/defloat and then promote the selection on the paper layer. x out layer 4 and the original paper layer.
My card looks like this now:

* Open a poinsettia flower and a reindeer. Resize the flower with 50% and the reindeer with 40%.
They still look a little too big for the card so resize them both with 75% also.
* Place the reindeer and flower to your liking. This is what I did:

* Go to layer 2´s promoted selection layer (/the striped paper). Chose Image/Picture Frame. Find frame lhsINKEDEDGES, apply this frame with these settings:

* Change the frame layers blend mode to Darken.
* Let´s add some “life” to this card with some shadows.
I used Eye Candy 5 Perspective Shadow with these settings on all layers (MINUS the frame layer – our inked edges):

* Your card is finished now, unless you want to add some text. I chose not to do this.
* Save your pspimage plus save it as a jpg.

PRINTING your card!
* If you want to you can now print your card. Open the jpg and flip PLUS mirror the image. So the card is now both upside down and mirrored.
* Then go to Print and apply these settings:

* Close the jpg – do not save.
* Because we printed it upside down and mirrored, you can now easily fold your card.
Mine looks like this: (/I am sorry for the poor picture quality but there is absolutely no natural light here at this time and apparently my office lamp is not enough.)

* Cut away the excess with a scissor.
You now have a homemade Christmas card to send to your loved ones!
I hope, you enjoyed this tutorial!
