Supplies used: paper, metalwire, frame, angel wings and a photo.

1. Duplicate paper, c/p the embellishments on to it.

2. Place the metal wire, so it fits within the frame, delete the excess.

3. With selection tool Rectangle selected well within the frame, go to paper layer, and promote to layer. Delete the original paper layer.

lhstut01

4. Open your photo. Duplicate it. Close the original. On your copy, activate your freehand selection tool with these settings:

lhstut02

Select around your “object” (/in my case my nephew). When finished, promote selection to layer. x out the original layer, check out if your tubed object looks okay. If/when it does c/p it to your tag canvas.

So far, this is what mine looks like:

lhstut03

5. Drag the tubed object beneath the angel wings.

6. I resized my wings (LOL) with 85% to fit my tube. I also rotated the wings 4 degrees to the left. Look at your tubed object to see, if you need to make adjustments like that.

7. Time to add some shadow. I used Alien Skin´s Eye Candy 5 (Perspective Shadow).

For the tube, the frame and the metalwire I used the following settings:

lhstut04

For the wings I used a perspective shadow:

lhstut05

8. Add some text of your liking.

I used font Mixage Bk BT, and applied an inner bevel with these settings:

lhstut06

Add a drop shadow.

9. Crop and save as a psp-image. Resize and save as a jpg too.

This is my result:

Program used: PSP 9

Level: Beginner

Supplies: Kit One For The Boys. This is one  of my old kits, and is therefore available for just 1$ at Digital Scrap World.

Supplies used: 1 paper, 1  glitter star, 1 star frame (which already has a perspective drop shadow), a photo of your liking.

1. Duplicate the paper. C/P the embellishments onto it.

2. x out the paper layer.

3. With your selection too trace around the glitter star like this:

tut015

Go to the paper layer and promote selection to layer.

4. With your text tool write “You´re”.  I used LD Vanilla with a font size of 250. I also used  a glitter  fill instead of  a solid color. Convert the vector to a raster.

Repeat with the words “my” and “star”.

Move the text to your liking. This is how mine looks:

tut026

Rotate the “You´re” layer 9 degrees to the left.

Rotate the “my” layer 6 degrees to the right.

Rotate the “star” layer 5 degrees to the left.

5. On the “You´re” layer, select all, float, defloat, modify/shape based Anti-Alias (outside), modify/expand (10 px).

While still selected create a new layer (place it beneath the “You´re” text layer), fill the selection with white.

Repeat with the two other text layers.

6. Merge the glitter star layer and the promoted paper layer.

7. Now we need to add a shadow to the text layers and the new glitter star layer. I used Alien Skin Eye Candy 5´s Perspective Shadow with the following settings:

tut034

8. Activate the star frame layer. Follow inside of the star with your selection tool.

tut043

Activate the merged glitter star layer, press delete.

9. Time to find the picture, you would like to use. C/P it to the canvas, drag it to the bottom of the canvas. Place it  (and if needed resize it) to your liking and cut away any excess outside of the star.

10. Crop the canvas and save  it as a psp-image. Resize it and save as a jpg.

This is what mine ended up looking like:

Program used: PSP 9

Level: Beginner

Supplies: Kit Solitude. It is available at Digital Scrap World.

Subjects: How to make a quick page and a layout.

1. Open two papers, 1 window with ladder  (with a perspective drop shadow already applied), 1 leaf frame, 1 bow, 1 bird and a picture of your own.

2. Duplicate the paper, you want at the bottom. Promote this layer to a raster layer. C/P the other materials to this canvas. Save the canvas.

3. Resize the leaf frame and the bird with 65% and the bow with 45%.

4. “Draw” a sky shape with your selection tool (freehand). Select/modify/inside outside feather/both 200. On a new layer fill the selection with white.

Place the layer below the window with ladder layer.

5. Resize the top paper with 97%, rotate it 2 degrees to the right.

This is what my layout looks like now:

tut014

6. Rotate the bow 2 degrees to the right.

7. Add the journaling/text. I used Lucia BT size 200, and wrote Stairways To Heaven.

8. Resize the bird with 45%, mirror it and place it above the text.

tut025

9. Now it is time to add some drop shadow. I use Alien Skin Eye Candy 5´s Perspective Shadow.  If you don´t have this plugin just use another drop shadow.

I used these settings:

tut033

Note that you should not apply a perspective drop shadow to the sky, the ladder or the top paper. Instead use a regular drop shadow.

Also note that the sky´s shadow needs to be very discrete. I lowered the opacity of the shadow to approx. 20.

Here are my settings for the regular shadow:

tut042

11. x out the leaf frame layer. Then with your selection tool  (point to point) follow the window frame (the one above the ladder).

tut051

Activate the sky layer, press delete.

Activate the top paper, press delete.

Activate the bottom paper, press delete.

12. Make the leaf frame layer visible again.

You now have a QUICK PAGE. Save it as a PNG-file.

tut061

13. Open the photo you would like  to use. Position it (resize if needed), drag the picture to below the bottom paper layer.

14. Save you psp-image. Resize if needed and save as a jpg-file.

This is my finished layout:

tut041

4. C/P your tube to the canvas.

The tube, I am using, is one I have found on the internet at some time. Sorry, that I cannot provide name of the artist or of the tuber.

5. Place things to your liking.

This is how mine look:

tut011

6. Now we need to add some drop shadow. I used Alien Skins Eye Candy 5´s Perspective Shadow for this. If you don´t have this plugin just use a standard drop shadow.

The settings, I used:

tut021

7. Add name to the tag. I used LD Jasper Hand size 20. Convert the vector to a raster. Place it on top of the tag. Rotate the layer 6 degrees to the left. Again add a drop shadow.

8. Crop away the excess. Add a white layer in the background and save your work. I like to save it both as a pspimage and as a jpg. That way I can always go back and make adjustments.

tut062

Program used: PSP 9

Level: Beginner

Supplies: kit Simply Sweet by Lise-Lotte Sunesen. Available at Digital Scrap World.

Copy and paste paper, ribbon (with perspective drop shadow), skunk glittersticker and heart to a new canvas.

Save your work.

Resize the ribbon and the heart with 75%.

Place things so that it looks something like this:

tut01

Resize ALL layers to 800*800 pixels.

tut02

Crop away excess around the ribbon.

On the paper layer, go to Picture Frame and chose Edge Round 03. It should be in your PSP no matter, what version you have. If not use another frame to your liking.

tut03

Notice I chose to frame the current layer (/the paper layer) and I mirrored the frame.

Go to the top layer and chose your text tool. Add your text. I wrote “You skunked my heart”. The font I used is LD Flutter with a size 36.

Rasterize the text layer, and rotate it 4 degrees to the left.

Now add you tag name. I used the same font but with a size 72. I rotated the rastified layer 6 degrees to the left.

Move the glittersticker (/the skunk) beneath the frame layer (so it is still above the paper layer).

This is what mine look like  now.

tut04

With your select tool trace the ribbon circle. It needs to be ON the ribbon not inside or outside it. Go to the paper layer and press delete.

IF you do not want to keep the flowers from the skunk inside the circle, go to that layer and press the delete button again.

Deselect.

Now open a picture or tube of your liking and copy and paste it to your canvas. Resize it as needed and move it beneath the paper layer.

Go to your tag name layer again (/in my case it would be the one with MAX on it). Select all, defloat, float, modify/expand 3 pixels, modify/shape based Anti-Alias (outside).

Create a new layer, move it below the name tag layer, and fill it with white. Deselect.

Now the embellishments need to have added some drop shadow. There is no need to add anything to the ribbon, since it already has a perspective drop shadow.

I used these settings:

tut05

Now the tag is finished. So save your pspimage and then use the save as to save it as a jpg to a given folder.

This is what my tag ended up looking like:

tut06

The “model” is my parents dog, Max. Now there is a boy, that can really skunk your heart! :)

I hope, you enjoyed this tutorial.
