Last Day Of School

This tutorial was written by me. Any resemblance to others is purely coincidental and unintentional. This tutorial was written using PSPX but should be able to be done in all versions. Please do not copy this tutorial or tear apart to claim it as your own. What you make from this tutorial is yours to do with as you please. Please do not use this tutorial to gain profit from your results.

Supplies Needed:

A scrap kit of your choice, I am using the amazing work of Lise-Lotte Sunesen. You must purchase this kit before you can use. This kit is called Back To School. You can do so at Digital Scrap World.

I am using my own photo in this tutorial. You are welcome to use one of your own or use a graphic of your choice.

First we are going to get our picture ready to go.

1) Open your picture in your psp. Duplicate it to preserve the original. Crop off any part of the picture that you don’t want to use. Minimize your picture so we can work on the layout now.

2) Open the paper of your choice. Duplicate it and then close the original. This will be our working canvas.

3) Open the notebook. Copy and paste it as a new layer. Resize it by 80%. Go to image free rotate and rotate it to the left by 20 degrees. Move it to the upper left hand corner.

4) Copy and paste your picture as a new layer. Position it to your liking under your notebook.

5) Open the prong of your choice. Copy and paste it as a new layer. Position it on top of your picture in the exposed upper right hand corner. Duplicate the prong and go to image and flip. Move it to one of the lower corners of your picture. Duplicate it again and move it to the other bottom corner of your picture.

6) Open the pencil of your choice. Copy and paste it as a new layer. Position it on one side of your notebook to your liking.

7) Open the paperclip of your choice. Resize it by 80%. Go to image and free rotate it to the left by 20 degrees. Move it to upper part of your notebook and position it to your liking. Using your eraser tool erase the outer part of the paper clip so it looks like the paper clip is attached to the notebook.

8) Open the tag of your choice. Copy and paste it as a new layer. Resize it by 80% twice. Go to image free rotate and rotate it to the right by 30 degrees. Move it below your paper clip.

9) Open the ruler and scissors and copy and paste them as a new layer. Position them to your liking.

10) Add any text that you would like to add.

11) Add any copyrights that you may need to add.

12) Resize it to your liking and save it in your desired format.

I hope that you enjoyed this tutorial.

Hugs and Love

“A little birdie told me….”

What you need:

Tube of choice, I used artwork by Suzanne Woolcott and you can purchase her work here

Scrapkit of choice, I am using “Sugar Rush” by Lise-Lotte Sunesen and you can purchase this kit here

Tag Template #2 by me and you can download that here

Graphic Program of choice, I use PSPX2

Font of choice, I used Gill SANS MT

Let’s Begin!

1.Open a transparent image 600×600 pixels and open all of your supplies

2. For each part of the tag template, you will need to copy & paste onto a paper of choice from her kit as a new selection, then go up to layers and down to promote background layer and finally crop to selection.

Once this is completed, you can copy and paste as a new layer onto your new, blank image

*I ONLY used the bracket back and frame around it from the tag template*

3. Copy and Paste her rectangle, 3 part frame from the kit and re-size it according to your tag size or roughly 425 pixels long.

Add drop shadow

Now create a new raster layer behind the frame layer and use your selection tool to trace along the frame opening.

Copy and paste your paper of  choice INSIDE selection

Add any other elements of choice. I used the eyelet heart and rotated 12 degrees to the left, a bird and a ribbon/floral border. Be sure to add drop shadows to give your tag depth.

4. Copy and paste your tubes of choice, re-sizing and trimming as needed.

Add copyright info and name and you are done!

Subject: How to turn a tag into a layout.

This is a continuation of tutorial Sugar Rush Tag.

1. Open the original file from tut Sugar Rush Tag.

lhstutsugarrush_lo_01

2. Copy and paste a paper to the bottom layer.

lhstutsugarrush_lo_02

3. It now sort of looks like a layout, but the tag contents need to be moved. I linked all layers except the paper layer and the star layer (including its drop shadow).

This is how I placed things:

lhstutsugarrush_lo_03

4. Copy and paste the picture(s), you would like to use on your canvas. Place them behind the frame layer, and cut away any excess.

5. If you like  then add title and/or journaling.

This is my finished layout:

lhstutsugarrush_lo_04

To see how to resize the layout and/or print it please see this tutorial.

Program: PSP 9

Level: Intermediate

Supplies: Kit Sugar Rush by Lise-Lotte Sunesen. You can buy it here.

1. Open the scrap embellishments, you would like to use.

2. Copy and paste them to a 3600*3600 px. canvas.

I used: a frame, a bird, a fiber string, an oval tag, a bow and a folded ribbon.

3. Save as a psp image.

4. Add drop shadow to the embellishments.

I used the following settings:

lhstutsugarrushtag01

I put the shadow on a new layer, so I with the warp brush could give it a perspective look.

This is how it looks now:

lhstutsugarrushtag02

5. Find a paper, that you like. Copy and paste it to the bottom layer in the canvas.

6. Download the star mask here.

7. Apply the mask to the paper, then merge the group.

8. Move the star to your liking and add a drop shadow.

This is how mine looks now:

lhstutsugarrushtag03

9. IF you want to use the tag in a layout later (/here is a tutorial on how to), then save your work now and duplicate the canvas. Close down the original canvas. We will now be working on the new.

10. Resize your new canvas to 600*600px. (/or which ever size you would like your tag to have).

11. Time to add some pictures and/or tubes of your liking. If needed add some drop shadow to those.

12. Add your name (/or title).

13. Crop the image and save it.

This is what mine ended up looking like:

Subjects:

How to use a quick page

How to resize digiscrap pages

How to print digi scrap pages

Program used: PSP9

1. Open and copy your choosen quick page.

I am using one of my own from kit Funky Girl. You can find it here.

2. Open the picture you want to use.

3. My picture is too small for the full sized quick page, so I need to resize the QP.

lhshowtouseaqptut_01

It is very important to use SMART SIZE. Otherwise you can´t be sure, that your digi scrap page will show up okay.

4. Copy and paste the choosen picture to the quick page.

5. Drag the picture to the bottom, place it to your liking behind the frame.

6. Optional: Add text (journaling and/or a title)

7. Save the layout.

I prefer to save as a psp image, then it is easy to edit the layout later.

IF you want to print the layout:

8. Click the printer button

lhshowtouseaqptut_02

FIT TO PAGE will fill the page. That is rarely a good option. Instead choose one of the other options.

It is recommended to use 100% or less to make the print quality as good as possible.

In width add the size you want. In my case I choose to print it 9×9 cm.

I often like to print my layouts to a 6 inch/15,25 cm album. In a case like that, it is important to use big pictures, so the layout won´t need to be resized with more than (maximum) 50%.

The finished layout:
